AFFORDABLE HOUSING RESOURCES

  • The Office of Supportive and Affordable Housing and Services (OSAHS) is focused on developing permanent housing solutions for formerly homeless individuals and families. OSAHS works closely with other divisions of HRA and with other governmental and non-governmental service providers to develop new housing programs and to refer applicants to housing so the people we serve can achieve their maximum functional capacity in a safe supportive environment. OSAHS is the coordinating entity for Mayor de Blasio’s New York City 15/15 Supportive Housing initiative, working closely with DOHMH and HPD.

  • NYC Housing Connect is your portal to find and apply for affordable rental and homeownership opportunities across the five boroughs of New York City.

    Through Housing Connect, you can find and apply for affordable rental and homeownership opportunities. To qualify, your household must meet the household income and size requirements for a unit in the affordable development.

  • The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) is a public development corporation which provides public housing in New York City, and is the largest public housing authority in North America. These resources are available to support individuals and families in need of affordable housing or homelessness prevention resources.

  • Homebase provides New Yorkers experiencing housing instability in the community with various homeless prevention services and aftercare services to families and individuals exiting NYC DHS shelter to permanent housing. Homebase locations are servicing clients either via phone or for in-person services. Anyone seeking Homebase services should call the office in advance to schedule an appointment.

    HRA Legal Assistance Legal Assistance, DSS' Office of Civil Justice (OCJ).

    If you are facing eviction, if you need help with an immigration matter, if you are a worker facing wage theft or other workplace violations, or if you are facing other legal challenges, you may have access to free legal assistance through DSS' Office of Civil Justice (OCJ).

  • Living in Communities (LINC) Rental Assistance Program

    The LINC Rental Assistance Program helps move individuals and families from shelters operated by the New York City Human Resources Administration (HRA) and the New York City Department of Homeless Services (DHS) to permanent housing.

    CITYFEPS Rent Supplement Program

    The CITYFEPS Rent Supplement Program can help eligible families with children at risk of entry to shelter and those already in shelter to secure permanent housing.

    SEPS Rent Supplement Program

    The City's Special Exit and Prevention Supplement (SEPS) program can help eligible individual adults and adult families (families without children) at risk of entry to shelter and those already in shelter to secure permanent housing.

    Pathway Home

    A program that enables families and individuals to move out of shelter by moving in with friends or family members ("host families").
